Our Preschool Program is an exceptional construct for four and five-year-old students which inspires a love for learning and a strong start to their elementary school journey. All parts of our preschoolers’ day present opportunities for not only learning, but friendliness and teamwork.
Phonics instruction teaches children how to decode letters into their respective sounds, a skill that is essential for them to read unfamiliar words by themselves. Children can use phonics knowledge to “sound out” words. They learn to recognize how sounds are represented alphabetically and identify letter sounds, symbols, character and signs.
Introducing early math concepts to your child can be fun and educational. Math is part of children’s everyday lives. Introducing math-oriented activities to children before kindergarten, helps set them up for academic success in elementary school and beyond.
Experiencing and engaging in language-rich interactions helps children develop communication skills, patience, empathy and literacy all of which are critcal to success in school and beyond.
Young children are naturally inquisitive, full of questions about the world around them and the drive to investigate how things work. Providing opportunities for scientific discovery in early years settings is beneficial to young children is several ways. It can foster a lifelong love of science and it gives a basic grounding in scientific concepts and scientific thinking.
Children’s literature is important because it enhances development of language skills and other critical thinking skills that provide the foundation of learning. Children’s literature allows children to write better, and developing their creativity because the act of reading and the act of writing are closely linked.
